Jessica Demers is a sculptor who obtained an interdisciplinary BFA from NSCAD, and currently lives in Victoria where she works as a gallery coordinator. Her art has been exhibited in Nova Scotia and British Columbia. Her bookwork will contain drawings, collage, and text, and will explore her own experience of lineage as an adopted person. Presenting images from TV and advertising, the work will demonstrate how lineage can be constructed through identification with depictions of family and relatedness in popular culture.
