Jerry Ropson has a BFA from Memorial University and lives in Montreal and in Pollard’s Point, Newfoundland. His work has been exhibited in Canada, Thailand, and Germany, and he has participated in numerous public interventions and collaborative projects. Jerry’s McCleave project will be a small hardbound book containing illustrations mixed with pop-ups, pockets, foldouts, and other interactive elements that examines how lineage is linked to a personal sense of place. Weaving a narrative that mixes ‘truth’ with fantasy and the sublime with the mundane, the piece will attempt to articulate a ‘new’ Newfoundland history.
